National Service Scheme popularly known as NSS, the scheme was launched in Mahatma Gandhi Centenary year 1969 and aimed at developing student’s personality through community service. The motto of the NSS is “Not me but you”. It underlines that the welfare of an individual is ultimately dependent on the welfare of society on the whole. This expresses the essence of democratic living and upholds the need of selfless service and appreciation of the other man’s point of view and also consideration for fellow human beings. National Service Scheme has been working for the past 30 years to enrich the service mind among the students in our college. We are making the students to involve in social related activities by conducting various programmes like Campus Cleaning, Blood Donation Camps, Special Camps, and other awareness programmes. It also acts as a platform to develop leadership skills and organising skills. Our college NSS consists of three units with 100 volunteers in each unit. Each unit is headed by a programme officer. Dr. A.Manimaran, Mr. S.Praveen Kumar and Dr. R.DeviPriya are the programme officers of Unit – I, Unit –II and Self Financing Unit respectively. The strength of the cell was about 300 Volunteers in the current academic year 2017-2018. We have done with some social related activities like campus cleaning in and around our campus, Blood Donation camps and rally regarding plastic eradication and waste management.The NSS has been organizing many activities like Thyroid camp, rally, guest lectures and awareness Programmes. Apart from that we also conduct special camp in various villages in and around Erode. The special camp was conducted mainly for the benefits of the village peoples and for the adopted school students. During the special camp various health related programme like eye camp, veterinary camp, yoga and other awareness programmes were conducted.Our NSS Volunteers were involved in teaching craft works, the usage of computers and abacus for the school students
